JIU JITSU

Jiu Jitsu is a self-defense Martial Art with a central focus on using leverage and technique to control or submit opponents. This makes the art accessible to individuals of various sizes and physical abilities. Jiu Jitsu places a strong emphasis on a combination of takedowns and ground grappling, with practitioners learning a comprehensive array of sweeps, escapes, and submissions. What sets Jiu Jitsu apart is its unique approach to sparring, known as “rolling,” where practitioners engage in live, resistance-based training to apply techniques against a fully resisting opponent. Jiu Jitsu promotes a strategic approach, that rewards problem-solving and adaptability on the mat. Beyond its effectiveness in self-defense and sport, Jiu Jitsu fosters a tight-knit community of camaraderie, instilling values of humility, perseverance, and a life-long learning of the art.

 

STAND UP

Stand-up in Martial Arts encompasses a diverse range of techniques and disciplines showcasing the dynamic nature of combat sports. In the realm of self-defense and mixed martial arts, stand up is a critical component integrating various techniques from kickboxing, Muay Thai, Judo and Jiu Jitsu. Stand up exposes the importance of balance and timing combined with an added layer of punches, kicks, and knee strikes requiring practitioners to master both defensive and offensive techniques.We believe a strong stand up game lends to an even stronger self-defense. In this class, expect to break a sweat and leave with a set of new skills.
